I was responsible for the overall concept and design of several print elements for the Atlanta Falcons organization: backdrop banners for media press rooms, stage skirting and signage, and commemorative "Ring of Honor" banners honoring former players. I also coordinated on-field operations during a half-time show event.
Backdrop Banners
The organization wanted to refresh their visual look in press conferences, player interviews, and other appearances at the Falcons headquarters in Flowery Branch, Georgia. Moving away from the standard sporting "step-and-repeat" graphic style, I created several graphic banners emphasizing strength and movement.
Stage Skirting & Event Signage
As part of the Falcons' 2004 home season opener half-time show, I designed sponsorship stage skirting and various other signage elements used as part of the 15-minute show event.
"Ring of Honor" Banners
In an effort to honor their former star players, the Falcons comissioned the design of four 20' x 30' banners featuring player action photos and jersey numbers. The banners were unveiled during the Falcons' 2004 home season opener half-time show, and are now permanently hung at the top of the Georgia Dome interior. Additional banners will be created as more retired players are added to the "Ring of Honor."
On-Field Event Coordinator
Coordinating load-in and load-out of show elements, supervising paid and volunteer crews, and assisting in overall production operations were all part of my assignment during the "Ring of Honor" induction ceremony and half-time event. The show featured a 30-second on-field stage setup, pyrotechnics, and rigging for the unveiling of the "Ring of Honor" banners.
